This is a really simple folding pocket knife – it has a short, sharp blade in a wooden handle. And that’s it. There’s no bottle-opener or scissors or nail-file – there’s just one blade. There isn’t even a lock – you just keep it open by holding the lever in place as you use it.

 

I use only locally grown timbers, and I make them here using all my ancient machines to cut up the logs and turn down the handles. I heat treat and then temper the high-carbon steel too – so I make the whole thing from start to finish.

 

This is my version of simple traditional folding knifes like the Japanese Higonokami, and the German Trattenbacher Taschenfeitel – neither of those have locks either, and millions of each have been sold. Some people are worried that the blade could close on their fingers, but you quickly get used to it and I’ve never heard of anyone having a problem with them.

 

(Also, it is illegal in many countries – including here – to carry a lockable knife with a blade more than 3” long. Just saying.)

 

The postage to many countries costs as much as the knife – sorry about that, but of course, that’s outside my control. If you are interested in buying larger numbers I’d be happy to work something out.
